GuilderGuilder is Florin's historical enemy; the two islands that compose this state have been moved between independence and nominal Savoyard or French control so many times that the three countries have had to issue a joint proclamation to history textbook publishers to clarify it. The Guilderian landscape is harsh, with steep hills climbing out of the sea, but due to the peculiar weather in the middle of the Mediterranean almost every biome on Earth is represented here, even if just for a few square kilometers - emus imported from Australia in the early 1800s thrive and can be a danger to sheepherding, for example. Traditionally, Guilderians are excellent soldiers and sailors. The Dread Pirate Roberts is thought to have a base between North Guilder (Corsica) and Elba Island. |
